A whimsical character or a lifelike replica of a building or another inanimate object can be found on some hand-drawn greeting cards. Cards usually pertain to one specific occasion, but they can also be appropriate for an impromptu greeting or an unexpected "pick me up" that is being shared with a loved one or a friend. If you teach an illustration class at a community center and the next project that you are assigning will relate to greeting cards, purchase some hand-drawn greeting cards to inspire your students.

Various Perspectives Can Be Inspiring

A renowned artist or one that is just starting to make their mark may have different perspectives and use a distinct style and art materials to create each hand-drawn card that is part of their respective collections. Buy some cards that encompass a range of themes, which could pertain to everything from humorous children's cards to serious cards that would be considered sentimental and appropriate to be given to an adult on a specific occasion.

Go to a store or shop online. Buy hand-drawn card sets that appeal to you and that contain a variety of cards. Save some of the cards from each set and make a mental reminder to give them to your personal friends or loved ones on occasions that are coming up.

Viewing And Referring To The Cards Can Aid With A Project

On the day that you have chosen to share the remaining cards with your pupils, separate the cards into categories, based upon each artist's style and the lettering or paper that was used to create each one. Set the cards across a table that is inside of your classroom. Once your students are seated, discuss the project that you are assigning and point out various features that each card possesses.

Talk about each artist's style, the manner in which words are set up on the front or the inside of a card, and the overall meaning that you think is behind each artist's design. Once you are done speaking, allow your students to select one of the hand-drawn cards. Each card will serve as a guide and may provide each pupil with some inspiration while they are attempting to create a card of their own. After the project is complete, direct your students to take turns sharing their homemade cards with everyone in the class.

Look around to find some hand-drawn greeting cards that would work for you.
